rain, rain go away

Tropical Storm Fung-wong has been sending alot of rain here for days, so I’ve no news to report. I’ve been hunkered-down at home. I watched the Edmonton, Alberta Indycar race on TV. This wouldn’t have been a good day to travel from Baguio City to Sagada by bus as we had thought of doing.

I’m hoping that next Saturday we have favorable weather for an outing to Riverview water park in Asin, Tuba, to celebrate the birthdays of some youths residing in Baguio Gold. It’s a treat for them to travel out of Baguio Gold to anywhere interesting. In past years, Nick has enjoyed going with his school’s Sepak Takraw team to compete at other elementary schools in Itogon. I know that the kids have enjoyed going to Riverview, Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Camp John Hay, Philippine Military Academy and elsewhere.

One of the cement walls in the den, the ceiling and a bathroom wall and ceiling are leaking water which runs down to the floor, so I must go to mop again. Maybe I’ll take a picture of the moldy ceiling. The rain’s benefit to me is suppression of all the animal noise. Lately we haven’t heard continuous yelping and barking from dogs and crowing from roosters. During a break in the rainstorm yesterday, a cat howled eerily for a while, though. I guess that it was wet and miserable.
