Drink water!

Drink wa-ter!” ~ That’s bellowed to soldiers so that they’ll drink enough  from canteens and Camelbaks and avoid dehydration in hot weather. I think that I’ve drunk a hundred gallons in four days to try to flush-out toxins and to maintain hydration. Last night I began to have nasal allergy symptoms due to pollen in the air here or the power plant nearby or cooties from this internet cafe. My nose began dripping.

So in addition to my persistent headache (which can be dulled by aspirin), dizziness, sporadic nausea, loss of appetite and dry, painful, unproductive cough lingering since the Tuesday evening suspected insecticide poisoning, I began to enjoy swollen nasal passages and dripping and sneezing. I knew that I wouldn’t go to sleep soon. I was still awake past dawn, coughing and blowing my nose. Oh, joy. My headache was exacerbated by sneezing.

This afternoon I went to the pharmacy across the street and got Clarinase twice-per-day antihistamine and decongestant. It doesn’t work well, which was my problem with similar over-the-counter meds when I suffered from pine pollen allergy in Florida and South Carolina. The medicine is better than nothing, I suppose.
