    today’s birthday

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Dorsey Schroeder!

The Trans-Am champion and 24 Heures du Mans winner was born February 5, 1953.

I enjoyed watching him race for years, and now I enjoy hearing his on-air commentary of sport car races, such as on the 24 Hours at Daytona coverage.

    I’m no fool

Here’s spam that I found today: The ‘subject’ is: “UPS Delivery Problem NR 73854.” (yes, with a period)
    .

    Dear customer!
Unfortunately we were not able to deliver the postal package sent on the 25th of December in time
because the recipient’s address is incorrect.
Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our department. (what department?)

United Parcel Service of America. (yes, with a period)

I wasn’t persuaded by that amateurish note about a “postal package” to open the attachment, a zipped file, “UPS_document_Nr28451.zip”

    Justin shifts

IndyCar racer Justin Wilson will race for the Dreyer and Reinbold team this season. I’m not delighted that Justin left Dale Coyne Racing, with which he found victory lane last year. I don’t like disloyalty. But this is customary of those racers who rent a ride from Uncle Dale. They race under Dale’s wings for a year or two until they can rent ’better’ seats elsewhere. That’s the business.

    yes!

.I’m a fan of Adrián Fernández, so I am happy to read that he will race an Aston Martin Le Mans prototype in the 12 Hours of Sebring in March.

He’ll team with Darren Turner, Chis Buncombe, Stefan Mucke, and Harold Primat.
