No, I don’t like crashes.  I hate to see injuries to racers, race workers, and spectators, cars wasted, creating work for track and series safety crews, creating work for car crews at the tracks and back in the shops, damage to track surfaces, walls, & fences, and suspension of competition during cleanup (disruption of flow of races and even fuel-economy gamesmanship).  And I have really hated, since the 1980s, to see my favorite racers unfairly ‘taken out’ of races by their crashing competitors, even if their uninjured.  When someone whom I greatly admire and follow closely has been taken out of contention for a win, maybe taken out of a race, championship points are lost and a car is smashed, I have been mad. »→

Have an antique coffee table, painted a greenish colour (like copper that’s turned green). One leg broke off in our move here. Fairly simple repair for someone who knows what they’re doing. Have a photo I can send if you are interested.

investment

“I mean, these good folks are revolutionizing how businesses conduct their business. And, like them, I am very optimistic about our position in the world and about its influence on the United States. We’re concerned about the short-term economic news, but long-term I’m optimistic. And so, I hope investors, you know — secondly, I hope investors hold investments for periods of time — that I’ve always found the best investments are those that you salt away based on economics.”

oration

question to President Bush: “I don’t really understand. How is it the new plan is going to fix that problem?”

answer: “Because the — all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculated, for example, is on the table. Whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There’s a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those — changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be — or closer delivered to what has been promised. »→
