The Rescue Mission removed the couches from the Day Center so that persons wouldn’t sleep, snore, and drool here. But persons sleep on chairs and on the floor. Click here for a short iPhone video from the Day Center.

The ‘smokers’ pit,’ loaded with a thousand cigarette butts, that’s outside the Panama City Rescue Mission’s Day Center, is so hot at midday that the indigent persons come into the Day Center to watch on television I Dream of Jeannie, All In The Family, Sanford And Son, Bonanza, and Gunsmoke. Today I met some members of Panhandle Dubs in Fort Walton Beach.
Every day that I use this dusty old IBM computer in this office in the Rescue Mission, it crashes once or twice (depending on how many hours I use it) and Firefox crashes once or twice.
I just love Windoze computers.
Dario Franchitti won the IndyCar Grand Prix of Saint Petersburg.

Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim raced the Cadillac CTS-V twins for the first time in the SCCA World Challenge race in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. I’m not going to say whether I enjoy watching a race that was so plagued by caution periods. Sunday a second World Challenge race will be in the afternoon/evening, an hour and a half after the IndyCar race concludes. Let’s see how many fans remain at the track to watch that one. »→
